Food pantries play a crucial role in our community by ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry. They provide a lifeline to individuals and families who are struggling to put food on the table, offering access to nutritious meals and basic necessities.
The Glen-Ed Food Pantry began serving the greater Edwardsville area in 1980. In 2023, the Second Chance Thrift Store opened to support the mission of the pantry.
Through the sales generated from our thrift store, we are able to contribute valuable financial resources to the food pantry. These funds help the panty purchase food, maintain their facilities, and expand their outreach efforts, ultimately making a meaningful impact on those in need.
